Spotted on Sunday

So, it’s the close of another beautiful weekend in San Diego. As I look out my front deck, the moon is absolutely amazing. Have you ever thought that for the week Sunday is actually the beginning, and yet it’s also the end of the weekend? Something to ponder.

This weekend was my dog Callie’s first chance to walk for a longer distances since it’s now almost 7 weeks since she had her surgery. We’re so close to full activity, I’m beside myself. So on Saturday we walked on a pretty flat course at the old Navy Training Center (NTC). About halfway around the loop, Callie decided it was time to take a break and promptly laid down under a palm tree. I do believe my athletic dog is out of shape… which was confirmed after today’s walk in Balboa Park. So she and I have something in common, because when I went to the gym yesterday morning, I too wanted to lay down under a palm tree…

I’m beginning the YMCA’s Team Challenge in 2 weeks, which is v.v. needed. I so need to drop the lbs and get healthy… I even ordered Nutrisystem, and had a private weigh-in, which was devastating. I see people who are overweight, and think, “I’m not that large,” or “Do I look like that?” Either way, change it is a comin’ people. 2 nights a week working out with my “Team” and Fred, who will be my trainer/drill Sargent. Food diary and exercise log that will make me accountable. My plan is to supplement those workouts with lap swimming and other cardio.

More later, almost time for the Amazing Race.

On the Spot

Okay, so I decided to start a blog. Why you ask? Well, because I have thoughts that need an outlet, isn’t that why anyone starts a blog? My aim is to provide you with the good, the bad, and the ugly that exists in my life here in San Diego. You could say that it’s the good, the funny, the annoying, and just general ramblings of a forty-something. I invite my followers to comment, engage in conversation, and certainly feel free to disagree with me. I encourage it.
